If you arrive in the Netherlands by air, your most likely point of entry will be Amsterdam Airport: Schiphol. The University of Twente (conference's venue) is located in Enschede. Trains to Enschede and Hengelo leave at Schiphol (Amsterdam airport) every half-hour. Tickets are available from the ticket office or ticket machines at the Schiphol arrival hal. You will find it by following the signs with trains. At the ticket office you can also get information on the exact timetables of the trains. Train from Schiphol to Hengelo or Enschede stops at Amsterdam Duivendrecht, Amersfoort, Apeldoorn, Deventer, Almelo and then Hengelo and last Enschede. The journey will take approximately 2 hours and 10 minutes. You can also take the train in the direction of Groningen/Leeuwarden, which will take you to Amersfoort where you will have to change trains. In Amersfoort you then take the train to Hengelo and Enschede.

Reaching the venue by bus:

A bus ticket can be purchased on the bus. However, it is much cheaper to buy a multiple-ride ticket (strippenkaart) at the train station.

From Enschede train station, take Bus line 1 direction "Universiteit". Line 1 has several stops on campus. You need to take off the bus at "Hallenweg". From there it is only a short walk to the Waaier building.

From Hengelo train station, take Bus line 3 and get off at stop "UT/Viaduct". Ask the bus driver to tell you where it is. From the bus stop it is only a short walk to the porter's lodge at the entrance of the university.

Reaching the venue by taxi:

After arrival at the train station in Hengelo or Enschede, you can take a taxi to the University. In combination with your train ticket you can buy a special train-taxi ticket. You can buy this ticket at any railway station ticket booth or machine. If you wish to travel with a train-taxi ticket you have to use the special train-taxi (or trein-taxi). Ask at the railway station for the train-taxi pick-up place. You normally share a train-taxi with other people. Ask the taxi driver to take you to the porter's lodge at the entrance of the University campus.

Reaching the venue by car:

If you travel by car you should follow the road signs "Hengelo" or "Enschede". Once you arrive in either city, follow the white road signs marked "Universiteit".

Take the A35, direction Enschede, then take exit 26 "Enschede-West/Universiteit". Follow the sign “Universiteit”, the first exit to the right. Go left at the traffic lights and follow signs 'UNIVERSITEIT'.
