Communities and contexts (WP3)

The overall objective of this workpackage is the development of an open architecture for communities, context-aware systems, defining interchange and advertisement of context information, and realizing a platform for creation of communities and context-aware applications.

The key goals of this workpackage are the following:

  • Development of an open architecture for communities, context-aware systems, defining interchange and advertisement of context information, and realising a platform for creation of communities and context-aware applications.

  • To develop algorithms and approaches for collaborative signal processing and dependable information processing in distributed networks of embedded devices.

  • To enhance our understanding of the emergent behavior of a self-organizing system whose overall behavior is the collective local interaction among an extremely large number of small components and where the local actions are solely based on limited local information.

  • Development of algorithms and protocols for unobtrusive and autonomous key generation, management and distribution; development of unobtrusive identification and authentication mechanisms, deployment of privacy enhancing techniques.
