The overall objective of this
workpackage is the development of an open architecture for
communities, context-aware systems, defining interchange and
advertisement of context information, and realizing a
platform for creation of communities and context-aware
applications.
The key goals of this workpackage are

To develop algorithms and approaches
for collaborative signal processing and dependable
information processing in distributed networks of embedded
devices.

To enhance our understanding of the
emergent behavior of a self-organizing system whose overall
behavior is the collective local interaction among an
extremely large number of small components and where the
local actions are solely based on limited local information.

Development of algorithms and protocols for unobtrusive and
autonomous key generation, management and distribution;
development of unobtrusive identification and authentication
mechanisms, deployment of privacy enhancing techniques.
